Committee Brid RNA
A small team of committee members help to ensure that Bridlington Royal Naval Association runs as smoothly as possible. All are volunteers and give up their time freely to help support members and to ensure that the core values of the RNA are observed
Chairman: Martin Jolly
Martin has been Chairman of the Bridlington Branch since 2014. Amongst his other roles he is also Chairman of Bridlington's branch of the RBL and Commanding Officer of TS Pathfinder, Sea Cadets Bridlington.
Martin served in the Royal Navy for four and a half year and left as a Leading Seaman.
Martin is constantly working to help people in the veterans and Bridlington community as a whole. He currently works for Morrisons.
Vice Chairman:Mike "Daisy" Adams
Daisy has been a member of the RNA since moving to Bridlington. He was secretary for seven years from 2008 and took up the role as vice Chairman in 2022.
Previous to retirement daisy was a Radio electrician on nuclear submarines and was a sergeant in the metropolitan police force. He was also CO of his home town sea cadets for several years and is currently treasurer for TS Pathfinder in Brid
Secretary: Mike "Rubes" Rubery
Rubes has been secretary of RNA Brid since 2015. He also holds the role as Secretary of Bridlington & District Submariners Association.
Rubes served for just short of 18 years in the RN and completed his service as a CPOWEA on nuclear powered hunter killer submarines including HMS Warspite, HMS Conqueror and HMS Trenchant
Treasurer Mike Cook
Mike "Cookie" Cook has been treasurer for two years. He runs a successful driving instructor school and is a very active member of the RNA
Mike served for 22 years in the RN and left with the rate of Chief Petty Officer.
Standard Bearer: Scott McKensie
Scott is an associate member of the Bridlington branch of the RNA having served in the British Army as a member of the Grenadier Guards
Scott as been standard bearer since 2019
Mikki has been an associate member of the RNA for several years and has held several positions on the committee including PRO and Welfare officer. She took up post as Social Sec in 2019 and has been at many fund raising events for Brid RNA.
Mikki has been CO of Bridlington Sea Cadets and is a teacher by trade.
Anne has been an associate member of the RNA since 2021. She is co-owner of Bretlinton House B&B and before worked in the caring profession for both children and senior citizens.
Anne has been living in Bridlington since 2013 and has been involved in many fund raising events fro Brid RNA
Slops: Mike Blake
Mike "Blakey Blake has been a long serving member of the branch. He is a well known figure around town and is the man to see if you need any RNA gizzits be it uniform, gifts or casual wear with branch logo.
A ganges man Mike served for several years in the RN and left as an able seaman at the backend of the 1960's
John "Poppa Smurf" L'Amie has he affectionately known, has been branch delegate for two years. Another very active member of the branch John can be seen at all the RNA events helping out.
Another 22 year man, John served in the Fleet Air Arm and left the service with the rate of Chief Petty Officer.
Public Relations Officer: Ian Ellis
Ian is an associate member with several years experience as an amateur photographer. He became unofficial phot officer in 2017 and became a member of the RNA in 2022.
Ian was previously a lecturer in games design at Bradford college before retiring in 2021 and moving to Bridlington.
